Fifty Plus Style: A Spring Walk in Chester

DSCF1685It was a beautiful, cool, sunny day today so we wrapped up warm and walked into Chester, through the park and along the Groves.

I’m wearing a jacket from last year’s M&S spring collection (I think I paid £25 for it in the sale).  I’ve kept the rest of my outfit plain to let the jacket do the talking. The black merino wool sweater is also from M&S (no recollection of how much this cost but I bought it last summer), and the black cotton skinnies were from Tesco and only £8 in the sale.   They are one of my best buys as they wash really well and stay black.  I wish I could find some more!

My shoes are from Next and cost £25 in this year’s January sale.  The bag (picture one) is Jasper Conran, I assume from Debenhams, which I bought in a charity shop for £4 last week.  The scarf was knitted by my own fair hand!

I’ve accessorised with a long silver chain, a gift from my friend Linda, and a black Murano glass ring which I bought in Venice.  The sparkly little starfish earrings came from a boutique on one of the P&O ships.

Oh, the other accessory, the rather lovely meringue, is from Zuger’s café in John Street where we had afternoon tea!
